Shelbi Jordan - Lead Vocals: Currently attending Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo with a major in liberal studies, Shelbi is studying to be a school teacher. She's only 21 and of course can sing all of the new stuff, but she has a special "thing" for 60's Soul and Motown. When you hear her do our versions of "Chain of Fools" or "Take Me to the River" you are going to want to hear a lot more from her.

Lynne Abrams - Lead Vocals: Possessing a dramatic 4 octave range, a degree in music and a "day job" for many years as a vocal instructor, it goes without saying that Lynne is extremely well qualified. But never mind all of that! She has just about the best "rock voice" around and when it comes to ballads, "Whitney" you had better move it on over.

Marty Hernandez - Lead Guitar, Vocals, and Founder: Marty owns a sound company; "Eleven Eleven Sound". "Steppin Out" has some of the best and most exotic P.A. and recording equipment at their disposal. When you hear "Steppin' Out" perform live, you'll immediately notice the difference in crispness and clarity that this equipment makes and your ears will be forever spoiled. Marty has often joked that his motto should be "Buy It And They Will Come"!

Jim Watts - Drums, Backup Vocals: Jim has studied with some of the "greats". Continually honing his craft, he is able to effortlessly employ difficult offbeat patterns. He just never stops improving. Jim is also an accomplished songwriter with many published songs to his credit. One of the best drummers around, for many years Jim played with the well-known bands "The Farm" and "Stormcrow", receiving local airplay and touring throughout California. Jim has been with "Steppin' Out" since the beginning in 1998.

Richard Calande - Bass Guitar: Richard has played all over Southern California in the now legendary band "Shotgun", a band that he was with for several years. He might just be the best bass player in the "A.V.". Really a rock solid player, he just doesn't make mistakes! It was Richard who with a stroke of genius, thought of our band name, "Steppin' Out". By the way, he is also co-owner of a very nice audio and video shop, where you can buy all of that fancy Widescreen HDTV and 5.1 Surround Sound gear!

Clif King - Keyboards: If that's his real name! A true master of the Hammond B3 Organ sound, in the 60's, Clif's band "Care" released the single "Wounded Knee" on Heartland Records. Clif has also played with many of the "greats" such as "Buddy Guy", "Junior Wells", "Big Mama Thornton", "B.B. King" and many more. But more than that, all of these "leg-ends" are also personal friends of his!

Bob and Kathy Slaughter - Sound, Equipment, Lighting, Vehicle Maintenance: Without Bob and Kathy's hard work behind the scenes setting up, solving problems and fixing everything that breaks, I don't think "Steppin' Out" could perform even one show. We love and appreciate them very much.

So remember, for your corporate party, wedding or special event, "Why in the world would you ever go DJ when you could be "Steppin' Out"!!
